William Joseph "Bill" Anderson
/William Joseph “Bill” Anderson, 85 of Washington died Sunday-October 18, 2015 unexpectedly at UPMC Hamot, Erie. He was born January 2, 1930 in Washington the son of the late Charles Edward & Elizabeth Adelaide Reedy Anderson. Mr. Anderson was employed as a painter for Trinity High School and also ran William J. Anderson Cleaning at Washington Steel for many years until his retirement. He formerly attended North Buffalo Church and previously served in the National Guard 28th Division. Mr. Anderson loved going to his camp in Elk County to fish and hunt with his family. He enjoyed gardening and loved the holidays celebrating with his family and friends. He was a true family man, enjoying all the wonderful times with his grandchildren & great grandchildren.
On October 23, 1948 he married Vera L. Irwin Anderson who survives. They would have soon celebrated 67 years of marriage on Friday-October 23. Also surviving is a brother; Charles (Louise) Anderson of Washington, son in law; Gary Zofchak of Washington & granddaughter in law; Shannon Zofchak of Colorado, 2 grandchildren; Elizabeth (Frank) Gladysz of Washington & Jason (Janell) Zofchak of North Charleroi, 8 great grandchildren; Kala & Ty Zofchak of Colorado, Ashlee & Emilee Gladysz of Washington, Anna, Allen, Gracie Jae, & Grady Joseph Zofchak of North Charleroi along with several nieces & nephews. His loyal companion and dog “Molly” will also miss him very much along with his many friends and family.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by a daughter; Karen Anderson Zofchak, son; William Joseph Anderson Jr., 2 brothers; Harry (Joanne) Anderson & Roy (Joy) Anderson, grandson; Brian J. Zofchak.
Friends will be received on Friday-October 23, 2015 from 2 - 4 p.m. & 6 - 8 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc. Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A funeral service will be held on Saturday-October 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
