Robert A. Bruno

Robert A. Bruno, 93 of Strabane Woods formerly of East Washington died Monday-July 30, 2018 after months of failing health.  He was born June 3, 1925 in Washington the son of the late Louis and Rose Andreone Bruno.  Mr. Bruno was a 1943 graduate of East Washington High School.  He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. 

Mr. Bruno served in the United States Air Force during World War II as a 1st.LT-Flight Engineer.  He received the World War II Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal & the Asiatic Pacific Medal with 2 Battle Stars.

Mr. Bruno was a plumbing & heating contractor owning Robert A. Bruno & Co. Inc.  He also owned Robert A. Bruno Real Estate Management, was a real estate developer in Washington, built & owned Baldock Health Care Centre, built & owned Humbert Lane Nursing & Rehabilitation & Personal Care Centre, owned & operated the car dealerships of Pioneer Motors in Washington & Pioneer Buick in Monongahela, was a general partner of Washington Medical Facility Associates and was a former owner of Sgros Restaurant in Pittsburgh. 

Mr. Bruno enjoyed playing poker and blackjack with his friends.  He also liked to read and enjoyed watching Pittsburgh sports. 

On June 4, 1946 he married Elizabeth A. Hair Bruno who survives.  Also surviving is his son; Robert A. “Bob” (Joyce) Bruno Jr. of Washington, a daughter; Judith “Judi” (William “Bill”) O’Meara of Washington, 2 sisters; Eleanor Miller of New Hope & Carolyn (Tony) Comfort of Washington, 5 grandchildren; Eric Bruno, Erinn (Jason) Altman, Christopher Bruno, Lora (Gary) Hills & William (Kristyn) O’Meara, 7 great-grandchildren;  Jenna Bruno, Mia Altman, Ayla Altman, Abbey Hills, Gary Hills, Lily O’Meara & Declan O’Meara.  Several nieces & nephews also survive. 

In addition to his mother and father, Mr. Bruno was preceded in death by a brother; Louis Bruno.

At the request of the deceased there will be no public visitation.  Burial will be private.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc. Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director.
