Rose Marie Carrescia Warco, 90 of Washington died Saturday-September 19, 2015 at the Donnell House. She was born December 27, 1924 in Washington the daughter of the late Albert & Anna Lombardi Carrescia. Mrs. Warco was a graduate of Washington High School, Canonsburg Hospital School of Nursing & California University receiving her BSN degree. She was employed for Washington Hospital for 42 years as a Nursing Supervisor retiring in 1989. Mrs. Warco was also very involved in the Washington Hospital Phone-a-Thons. She was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church and presently was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church. She was also a member of the VFW Canonsburg & the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175 Women’s Auxiliary. Mrs. Warco enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening and yard work. She enjoyed attending various music concerts, watching nostalgic movies and also dancing and listening to polka music. She also loved having family pets and going to the horse stables with her family to feed the horses. Mrs. Warco was very involved and active in her children’s, grandchildren’s & great grandchildren’s lives. She was very kind and loving to people in her life and will be sadly missed by not only her family but by the many that knew her and worked with her.
On August 22, 1948 she married Louis J. “Lou” Warco Sr. who died December 12, 2009. Surviving are her children; Eva Ann (John) Bruno of Canonsburg, Barb (Larry) Stultz of Washington, Louis J. “Louie” (Lois Williams) Warco Jr. of Plano, Texas & Frank M. Warco of Washington, a sister; Evelyn “Evie” Carrescia of Washington, 4 grandchildren; Carmen (Tara) Bruno, Melissa (David) Wandling, Matthew (Kayleigh Verno) Stultz & Eric (Mackenzie) Stultz, 5 great grandchildren; Gianni Bruno, Sofia Wandling, Jonah Wandling, Ava Bruno & Isabella Bruno. Many nieces & nephews also survive.
Mrs. Warco was preceded in death by not only her husband but by a brother, Frank Carrescia and two sisters, Angeline Abbas & Josephine DiYenno.
Friends will be received on Thursday-September 24, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc. Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday-September 25, 2015 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas D. O’Neil as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
