Donald Pollard
/Donald Pollard, 78 of Hope Mills North Carolina, formerly of Lincoln Hill, Washington passed away on Saturday-February 6, 2016. He was born October 23, 1937 in Washington, Pa. the son of the late Elbert and Beatrice Minor Pollard Sr. Mr. Pollard graduated from Trinity High School and received an Associate’s Degree from Triton College in River Grove, Illinois. He was employed as an Engineer for the city of Chicago Water Department for many years until his retirement. Mr. Pollard enjoyed sports especially baseball and football. He served in the United States Army from 1956 until 1958 before being honorably discharged.
He is survived by one son; David M. Pollard of Calumet City, Illinois, one daughter; Michelle B. (Ali Sowe) Pollard of Hope Mills, North Carolina, one brother; Kenneth (Ruby) Pollard of Plainfield, Illinois, three sisters; Barbara Gray of Newport News, Virginia, Janet Pollard of Washington, Pa. and Beverly Boynton of Charleston, South Carolina, two grandchildren; Aubeney Phillips and Fatima Sowe.
Mr. Pollard was preceded in death by two brothers; Thomas Pollard and Elbert Pollard Jr.
Friends will be received on Thursday-February 18, 2016 from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave. Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director. Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday-February 19, 2016 at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville Pa. Full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175 and the United States Army. Those wishing to attend the burial are asked to meet in the funeral home parking lot on Friday at 12:00 P.M. Noon for procession to the cemetery.
