Timothy L. Maloy
/Timothy L. Maloy, 83 of Washington, PA, known affectionately as “Daddio” to his children, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 surrounded by all of his family. Tim was born December 25th, 1938 in Washington, PA a son of the late John James “Tim” and Rita (Gideon) Maloy. He was a graduate of Immaculate Conception class of 1956 and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Tim retired from Washington Steel Corporation after 36 years as an accountant.
Tim was a member of the Washington County Accounting Association. He was also founding member of Washington Steel Federal Credit Union and served on the board for a number of years there. Tim was a board member for the Washington Park Commission.
He played basketball for Freddie’s Club and a semi-pro basketball team, Civic Club. He also enjoyed softball and golfed many rounds with his sons, grandsons, and friends. Tim coached basketball for over fifty years at Immaculate Conception (boys in the sixties), John F. Kennedy Grade School (boys and girls), Eighth Ward (boys and girls), the Brownson House, Washington Park, and Metro Pittsburgh League. He was known as “Coach” to the many players he coached throughout the years. Tim was an avid Steeler and Prexie fan. With all his qualities you can imagine what a fun father and Pap he was. His family loved spending time with him and he was a hero to his grandchildren.
On July 29th, 1961, he married the love of his life, Janice L. (Boardley) Maloy, who survives after 60 years of marriage. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Mark E. Maloy of Washington, PA, Melinda A. (James) Chyba of Randall, MN, Timothy L. (Laura) Maloy II of Washington, PA, Marla M. Bredniak of Washington, PA, and Michael J. (Frannie) Maloy, of Saint Charles, IL; one brother, Michael (Jane) Maloy of Pinehurst, NC; five grandchildren, Ryan Williams, Del Bredniak, Abby Maloy, TJ Maloy, and Ian Bredniak; and in-laws, Sandra (Frank) Bombara, Terry (Michael) Wheatley, Barbara (Blair) Guthrie and Marlene Boardley. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a brother, James Maloy, in-laws, Robert and Katherine Boardley and brothers-in-law, James Boardley and Edward Boardley.
The family would especially like to acknowledge the staff at Concordia Hospice of Washington and Hospice of Myrtle Beach. They also would like to thank the medical staff of Centerville Clinic and Allegheny General Hospital. If desired in lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to the Brownson House, Washington, PA in his name.
Friends will be received on Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 6 - 8 P.M. and on Sunday-June 12, 2022 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director. A prayer service will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, June 13, 2022 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, 119 W.
