Jacqueline M. Martin, 57, of Washington, passed away, Tuesday, July 27, 2021, following an extended illness.
A member of Immaculate Conception Church of St. James Parish, Jackie was a 1983 graduate of Bethel Park High School, and later obtained a certificate from the Bradford Business School.
Jackie loved music, and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. She was an avid member of Immaculate Conception’s choir, and a few years ago she traveled to Italy with the group. The choir sang before the Pope at the Vatican, a memory she always cherished.
Jackie also took tremendous pride in her position with NiSource – Columbia Gas, and enjoyed working with many fine colleagues, in particular her supervisor, who the family thanks for her tremendous support.
Outside of work, one of Jackie’s passions was Pittsburgh sports, especially the mighty Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team. An enthusiastic collector, Jackie was very proud of the autographed pucks, bobbleheads, and other Penguins memorabilia she had accumulated.
Another great love was her beloved little Yorkie-Poo Peppy, who was a source of constant entertainment and comfort to her.
But the thing Jackie enjoyed most in the world was spending time with family, which she did as often as schedules and distances permitted. Her family included her mother and father, Louis and Elizabeth, who survive her. Also surviving are her sister and brother-in-law Debra Martin and Brian Koma, and her nephew and godson Alexander Koma, all of Virginia. Her very special aunt, Carol McCloskey, and partner Bruce Beppler, are also left behind to hold her memory, along with her aunts Rosemary Carson of North Carolina and Marlene Freeman of Arizona, and other cousins scattered around the country. She was preceded in death by her brother Darren.
Friends and family will be received from 6:00 pm. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021 in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director. A prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, 119 W. Chestnut St. Washington with the Rev. John Lynam as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
