Clarence H. Miller
/Clarence H. “Buzzy” Miller, 89, of Washington, PA, died Sunday, July 11, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 16, 1931, in Washington, PA, a son of the late Henry John Miller, Jr. and Mary Agnes Young. Mr. Miller was a member of Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church where he found great spiritual comfort in his later years of life.
Mr. Miller worked for Jessop Steel Company for 24 years (1956-1980). He was a Korean War veteran (Sergeant First Class), having served in the 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Division of the United States Army. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Combat Infantry Badge, and the United Nations Service Medal.
On September 26, 1992, he married Sharon (Rizor) Miller, who survives him. He was a devoted grandfather to Colin Kunselman of Pittsburgh and Jenna Kunselman of Pittsburgh, who also survive him. He spent countless hours caring for them, attending their sporting events and performances, and supporting all of their endeavors. He was a great athlete and excelled at bowling, golf and swimming. He was inducted into the Washington Bowlers Hall of Fame and bowled a number of perfect games. He brought great joy and laughter to his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife and grandchildren, surviving him are his stepdaughter, Frankie Jo Pacilla (Harry) Kunselman of Freedom, PA; stepson, Louis John Pacilla II of Washington, PA; two sisters, Mary Lou (Miller) Hull of Lehigh Acres, FL and Christine (Miller) Naro of Plainfield CT; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents are two brothers, William and Eugene Miller.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until Noon the hour of a funeral service at Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church, 45 Church Road, Eighty Four, PA 15330. Pastor John Dykstra will officiate. All floral arrangements should be delivered directly to the church. Interment will follow in Pigeon Creek Church Cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded graveside by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175 and the United States Army.
