Jerad Jude Cypher, 31, of Washington, was called home to Heaven on Monday, May 17, 2021.  His cause of death is under investigation. 

Jerad was born July 9, 1989, in Pittsburgh to Jerome Thomas Cypher and Barbara Ventura Cypher of Washington. Jerad’s interests were family, family dinners, friends and going to the gym. He was an avid traveler, visiting 26 countries. He was an active member of St. James Parish.

In 2012, Jerad graduated from California University of Pennsylvania  with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, and three minors in Public Communications, Business Administration, and Marketing. In 2008, he graduated Chartiers-Houston High School where he was a two-year varsity basketball starter.  As a child, he attended John F. Kennedy Catholic School.

Prior to his death, Jerad happily served as an Administrative Supervisor for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. In addition, he was Office Manager for State Representative Tim O’Neal, and Office Manager at The Cypher Group. He was formerly elected as President and Councilman for East Washington Borough.

Jerad is survived by his parents, Jerome and Barbara Cypher; his brother, Jordan J. Cypher (Christie); his godson and nephew, Christian J. Cypher; aunts and uncles, Dr. Thomas Cypher, Dr. Janet Cypher, Cynthia Cypher, Theresa Cypher, Robert Ventura and David Ventura; his cousins, Olivia Cypher, Jude Cypher, Samuel Cypher, Grace Cypher, David Ventura and Bobby Ventura, Rachelle Padilla (Ralph); and his beloved rescue dog, George.

Jerad was preceded in death by his brother, Brendan T. Cypher; maternal grandparents, Barbara Ventura Mucci and James John Ventura; paternal grandparents, Antonette and Tucker Cypher; and maternal aunt, Darlene Ventura.

Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2021 in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director.  A prayer service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 24, 2021 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, 119 West Chestnut Street, Washington with the Rev. Michael Peck as celebrant.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to John F. Kennedy Catholic School Athletic Fund at 111 West Spruce Street, Washington, PA 15301; or Chartiers-Houston High School basketball program at 2020 West Pike Street, Houston, PA  15301.  Condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com
