Scott M. Hoffman, 58 of Washington died unexpectedly Tuesday- September 25, 2018 at 2:22 a.m. at the Washington Hospital Emergency Room.  He was born December 21, 1959 in North Charleroi the son of James V. and Joanne Malak Hoffman of Belle Vernon.  Mr. Hoffman graduated from Belle Vernon High School in 1978 and from Penn State University in 1982 with a degree in Environmental Engineering.  He was employed as a Licensed Professional Engineer for several engineering companies and was currently employed at KLH Engineers. 

Mr. Hoffman participated in 5K and 10K races in the 1980’s.  He coached Fayette City Midget League Football, Belle Vernon Thoroughbred Baseball and the Washington Twp. Queens Softball Team. He was an avid fly fisherman and conservationist.  He was also active in the Chestnut Ridge Trout Unlimited #670 and held various offices including that of President.  Mr. Hoffman was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Washington.  He was a loving and caring family man that was loved by many especially by his family who was his life. He will be dearly missed. 

On September 21, 1991 he married Nancy G. Spishock Hoffman who survives.  Also surviving is a son; Andrew Scott Hoffman and a daughter; Alyssia Francine Hoffman both at home, two brothers and two sisters; David (Nancy) Hoffman, Jodi (Mark) Leuner, Amy (Jamie) Dindal and Brad (Deyon) Hoffman and a sister-in- law; Audrey Reardon.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends will be received on Friday-September 28, 2018 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director.  A prayer service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday- September 29, 2018 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Washington.  Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Chestnut Ridge Trout Unlimited, P.O.
