Melissa Rhea Rice, 61 of Washington formerly of Illinois died Saturday-July 29, 2017 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.  She was born June 26, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late William Murphy & Betty Rhea Yarborough Hisey.  Mrs. Rice was employed for the last 8 years as a Microbiologist for Mylan Pharmaceutical Inc. in Morgantown.  She was a graduate of Eldorado High School in Illinois and Southern Illinois University.  Mrs. Rice loved gardening, working with crafts, but most of all spending quality time with her family. 

On June 12, 1976 she married Brian Keith Rice who survives here in Washington.  Also surviving are their children;  two daughters; Talia Marie Minton of Illinois, & Ivy Kathleen (Adam) Wabneg of Canonsburg, two sons; Brian Kagan Rice of Washington & Timothy Ray Rice of Washington, a brother; Clinton William Hisey of Illinois, sister; Kathleen (Dirk) Wendelen-Hisey of Europe, two grandchildren; William Keith Walsh of Illinois & Maya Kathleen Wabneg of Canonsburg, a niece; Christie Hisey of Illinois, four cousins; Janet Ogden of Atlanta, Mary Jo (Tim) Killingsworth of Atlanta, William E. (Sheri) Macomber of Atlanta & E. Christi (Randy) Romines of Atlanta. Several other cousins also survive. 

Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by a grandchild; Ava Wabneg & two cousins; John A. Macomber Jr. & Connie A. Arp. 

Friends will be received on Saturday-August 5, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev.
