Helen Stanley, 100 of Washington went to be with her son David in heaven on Sunday-May 14, 2017 at South Hills Rehab Wellness Center after a brief illness. She was born July 17, 1916 in Washington the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Tataro Lombardo. Mrs. Stanley had been employed at the Kiddy Shop for many years. She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Mrs. Stanley loved her cats and enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones. She was an officer at the Keystone Club and a life member. Mrs. Stanley received a Proclamation recognizing her life and accomplishments from the Mayor of the City of Washington, Scott Putnam.

In 1936 she married Gaylord “Gates” Stanley who died in 1983. Surviving is her daughter; Patricia (Gene) Mercer of Washington, four grandchildren; John (Mindy) Mercer, Gene (Michele) Mercer, Michelle (Clint) Pini and David Stanley.  Seven great-grandchildren; Lauren, Nicholas, Jackson, Andrew & Joseph Mercer, Destinee Knox & Marisa Pini.  Also surviving is her late son’s fiancé; Judy Coyle of Washington.  Several nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Stanley was the last of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by her son; David Stanley, a brother; Victor (Nell) Lombardo, four sisters; Genevieve (Jerry) Leone, Elizabeth Lombardo, Josephine (William) Fleming and Marie (Michael) Maiello.

Friends will be received on Wednesday-May 17, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director.  A prayer service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday- May 18, 2017 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church.  Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
