Richard W. “Dick” Mansfield, 82 of Washington died Sunday-March 19, 2017 at 10:30 P.M. in the Donnell House following a lengthy illness.  He was born August 27, 1934 in Washington Pa. the son of the late Charles A. and Romaine E. Walker Mansfield.  Mr. Mansfield was employed as a mold maker for 40 years at Metro Glass, Ball Glass and Penn Mold from where he retired.  He graduated from Washington High School in 1954.  Mr. Mansfield enjoyed painting, woodworking, gardening and traveling.  He coached softball for over 20 years and was a second degree black belt in karate.  Mr. Mansfield was a member of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175, the Alpine Club and the Artists Co-Op.  He served in the United States Air Force where he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Army Occupation Medal. 

On July 11, 1964 he married Barbara Malone Mansfield who died March 19, 2002.  He is survived by his children; Trudy (Jeff) Thomas of Prosperity, Glen Mansfield of Claysville, Stacey (John) Kraeer of Washington and Tina (Bob) McFall of Washington.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Mansfield was preceded in death by 4 sisters; Romaine Veltre, Helen Hartman, Mary Gordon and Lois Allum.

Friends will be received on Wednesday-March 22, 2017 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 9 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave. Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday-March 23, 2017 in the funeral home with Pastor Linda Mankey officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.  Full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175 and the United States Air Force.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Citizens Library 55 S.
