Martha O. Wylie
/Martha Odessa (Wilson) Wylie, 100 of Washington passed away Friday-February 3, 2017 at the Washington County Health Center. She was born November 12, 1916 in Midway, Pa. to the late David H. Wilson, Sr. and Martha Jane Nevergold Wilson. She graduated from Hickory High School, Class of 1935. On May 3, 1939 she married the late Marion W. Wylie who died November 11, 1995. They celebrated 56 years of marriage. She had been a member of the Chartiers Cross Roads Presbyterian Church since 1939. She served as president of the Mary Stewart Society for many years. Mrs. Wylie worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse, retiring in 1981 from the Washington County Health Center. After retiring she did private nursing. She played the part of one of the witches at the haunted house at the Houston Pumpkin Festival for many years.
Surviving is a son; Richard C. Wylie (Patrice) of Altoona, and a special niece; Bonnie McClure of Washington, two daughters-in-law; Joyce and Kathy Wylie, two grandsons; Brian Keith and Mark Allen Wylie, and a granddaughter; Alysa Quinn Wylie Yakeley, step grandchildren; Jody Craig, Bob and Terry Dunkle. Several great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren also survive.
Deceased are two sons; William W. and Thomas K., as well as five brothers and four sisters.
Friends will be received on Tuesday-February 7, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc. Wilson at East Katherine Ave. Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Eric Powell officiating. Private burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chartiers Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 502 Old Hickory Ridge Road, Washington, Pa. 15301.
