Louis W. West Jr.
/Louis W. West Jr., 82, of Laguna Niguel California, formerly of Washington, died Thursday-December 22, 2016 in Saddleback Memorial Hospital in Laguna Hills California after a short illness.
He was born February 22, 1934 in Washington, the son of the late Louis and Florence Alfano West. Mr. West was employed as a Hazardous Substance Inspector with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation until his retirement.
He was formerly a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. He was a graduate of Washington High School, and a graduate of The Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He was also a member of the Washington Sportsman Club, American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175, Life Member, and the Vado Del Rio Skeet and Trap Club of Camp Pendleton. Mr. West served in the Air National Guard and the Reserve of the United States Army.
On December 28, 1953 he married Gladys Mae Ritchie who survives. Also surviving is a son; Louis Gregory (Lela) West of Laguna Niguel, California and two grandchildren; Dr. Brooke Erin West and Dylan Andrew West. Mr. West is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother; Robert West and a sister; Betty Ruffa.
Friends will be received Wednesday-December 28, 2016 from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. in the Warco Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A blessing service will be held on Thursday- December 29, 2016 at 10 A.M. in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard J. Wesoloski officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
