Martin Joseph "Jay" Wagner

Martin Joseph “Jay” Wagner 78 of Washington died Tuesday-May 19, 2015 at the Consulate Health Care of North Strabane after a brief illness. He was born August 11, 1936 in Washington the son of the late Carl J. and Claudia Zinko Wagner. He was a 1954 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School. Mr. Wagner enjoyed hunting and fishing. You could find Mr. Wagner frequently enjoying his meals and friends at the Tower Restaurant. He served in the United States Marines Corps and the United States Air Force. He was a Charter & Life member of the Washington County Detachment # 1138 Marine Corp League, life member of the Houston VFW, Marine of the Year, member of the Chapel of the “Four Chaplains”, former active member of the Boy Scouts of America and a former Eagle Scout. 

Surviving are two brothers; Robert J. (Carol) Wagner of Finleyville & David P. (Mary) Wagner of Grants Pass, Oregon, sister; Charlotte Evans of Washington along with several nieces, nephews and great nieces & great nephews. 

Mr. Wagner was preceded in death by a brother in law; Karl Evans. 

Friends will be received on Monday-May 25, 2015 from 2 -4  & 6 - 8 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc. Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A prayer service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday-May 26, 2015 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. Interment will be held at a later date in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, 119 W.
