Lois Jane Ritchie Warco
/Beloved Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother
Lois Jane Ritchie Warco, known as “Doe” by her family, 87 of Washington died Monday-October 24, 2016 in the Washington Hospital following a brief illness. She was born August 28, 1929 in Washington Pa. the daughter of John George and Beulah Mae Young Ritchie. She was a 1947 graduate of Washington High School. Mrs. Warco was a homemaker and a stay-at-home Mom while caring for and raising her three sons. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church where she and her late husband, Stanley were faithful parishoners. Mrs. Warco enjoyed going to dances at the American Legion with her husband in their younger years. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, ceramics and planting flowers. She will be remembered for baking her famous Texas Sheet Cakes that her family and friends looked forward to and enjoyed. For many years Mrs. Warco was an avid walker at Washington High School Stadium Track where she and her many friends would walk and enjoy each other’s company. She loved to shop and spent many afternoons at the Washington Crown Center. She looked forward to the yearly trips that she and her husband took to vacation at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Most of all, Mrs. Warco loved spending time with her family. Her family was her life and she cherished her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
On September 11, 1948 she married the late Stanley A. “Stush” Warco who died December 5, 2015.
She is survived by three sons; S. Timothy “Tim” Warco of Washington, Michael (Deanna) Warco of McMurray and Kevin (Joanne) Warco of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, 7 grandchildren; Holly Renay Warco, S. Timothy (Allison) Warco II, A.J. (Susan Vozila) Warco, Megan (Ed) Moran, Matthew (Meghan) Warco, Shannon (Lee) Garrett and Alyssa (Fiance`: Steven Carver) Warco, two great-grandchildren; S. Timothy Warco III and Brennen Gabriel "BB" Warco, two sisters; Thelma Jean Piatt and Gladys (Louis “Jr.”) West. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Friends will be received on Saturday-October 29, 2016 from 6 - 8 P.M. and on Sunday-October 30, 2016 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave. Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director. A prayer service will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Monday-October 31, 2016 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 119 W. Chestnut St. Washington with the Rev. William P. Feeney and the Rev. Richard J. Wesoloski as concelebrants. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
