James W. Ward

James W. Ward 77, of Washington died Monday-November 16, 2015 at Transitions Health Care, Washington. He was born February 24, 1938 in Waynesburg the son of the late James and Lily Corbett Ward. Mr. Ward was employed for many years as a Washington City Police Officer. He later worked for Union Electric Steel in Carnegie and Harmon Creek in Burgettstown until his retirement. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and was a graduate of Washington High School. Mr. Ward served in the United States AirForce from 1955 until 1958.

On November 12, 1960 he married Carol W. Ward who died March 21, 2015. Surviving are his children; Alison Gregg of Washington, Jimmy Ward of Washington & Amy Miller, a brother; Richard (Sharon) Ward of California, several sisters survive along with 3 grandchildren; Emily (Cody) McConnell, Cory (Tiffany) Miller & Maxwell Miller, 2 great grandchildren; Aaden McConnell & Silas Miller. 

In addition to his wife, Mr. Ward was preceded in death by 2 sisters and his beloved dogs; “Barney” & “B.J.”

Friends will be received on Wednesday-November 18, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc. Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A blessing service will be held at 1:00 p.m.on Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. George Chortos officiating. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial contributions can be made to the Washington Area Humane Society, P.O.
