Michelle Conroy Chaido
/Michelle Conroy Chaido, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated social worker, passed away on March 6, 2024, in Washington, Pennsylvania. She was born on January 24, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to loving parents Ralph and Josephine Berlin Conroy.
On July 31, 1971, Michelle married Lawrence J. Chaido, and together they raised a family filled with love and laughter. Michelle is survived by Lawrence, her devoted husband, and her children Michael (Natalie) Chaido, Kelly Chaido, and Erin (Ted) Nelson. She was also a cherished Nana to Matthew and Andrew Chaido, as well as Jack and Charlie Nelson. Michelle's family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Michelle was a shining light to all who knew her, touching countless lives with her compassion and kindness. She dedicated her life to helping others, earning her Bachelor of Arts from Duquesne University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. Michelle's career, culminating as Vice President of Social Services at CommQuest Services, was not just a job but a calling, where she selflessly worked to improve the lives of those in need. She was especially proud of her opportunity to mentor subsequent generations of social workers at the beginning of their careers.
Throughout her life, Michelle's dedication and hard work were recognized, earning her numerous honors and accolades, including Social Worker of the Year in 2007 from the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. Her impact on her community and the lives she touched will always be remembered and cherished.
In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral service was held to honor Michelle's life.
