Charles Franklin Roberts
/Charles Franklin Roberts, 91, of Washington, PA passed away unexpectedly in his home on Sunday, February 18, 2024. He was born November 27, 1932, in Washington, PA, a son of the late Donovan and Agnes Muhleman Roberts. Mr. Roberts graduated from Washington High School in 1950. On July 30, 1953, he married his high school sweetheart, Dolores Stimmell who survives. The two were married in the West Washington United Methodist Church by the Rev. John DeBolt and celebrated 71 years of marriage. Mr. Roberts was drafted into the United States Army in 1953 and served in the Korean war before being honorably discharged in 1955. He was first employed as a mold maker for Metro Glass. In 1967 he started a business known as R&M Grinding in Meadowlands, PA. Mr. Roberts was a member of the Central Assembly of God in Houston, PA. He enjoyed working in his yard, going to the beach, and attending his grandchildren’s activities. Mr. Roberts also enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Steeler games. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his children, Susan (Edward) Westcott and Steven (Tammie) Roberts; a daughter-in-law, Denise Roberts; eight grandchildren, Sara (Brent) Marsteller, Emily (Coury) Miles, Matthew (Emily) Roberts, Philip (Cynthia) Westcott, Jared (Nicole) Roberts, Jordan (Rachel) Roberts, Alexander Roberts, and Rachel Roberts, and nine great grandchildren, Maddix Marsteller, Bailey Roberts, Taeden Marsteller, Gabriel Roberts, Callin Miles, Charles Roberts, Camila Westcott, Lilah Miles, and Jensie Roberts.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Roberts, and by two brothers, Jack and Robert Roberts.
Friends will be received on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 23, 2024, in the funeral home with Pastor Todd Stemple officiating. Entombment will follow in the Washington Cemetery Serenity Mausoleum. Full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175 and the United States Army.
