Douglas W. McDowell, 70 of Washington passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 in his home. He was born November 16, 1952 in Washington, PA the son of the late Harold “Mick” and Laura Sprowls McDowell. Mr. McDowell was a 1970 graduate of McGuffey High School and attended California University of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, 1793 in Washington. Mr. McDowell enjoyed riding his motorcycle and tinkering with everything. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

On June 28, 1987 he married Wanda J. Dinsmore who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Michael (Christa) McDowell of Washington and Eli (Traci) Chipps of Washington; a brother, William McDowell of Kansas City, Missouri; a sister, Sharon (William) Scott of Washington and six grandchildren, Halee, Alyssa, Elijah, Madison, Ty and Rilie. Multiple nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McDowell was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Novak Ankrom.

Friends will be received on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. L. Stephen Smith Jr. officiating. Interment will be private.
