Alfred M. Leonard Jr.

Alfred M. Leonard Jr., 74 of Washington passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2023.  He was born August 23, 1948 in Washington, PA the son of the late Alfred M. and Thelma L. Colvin Leonard Sr.  Mr. Leonard was a graduate of Washington High School.  Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he served two tours of duty from 1967 until 1972 before being honorably discharged.  Mr. Leonard was employed for many years as a welder at Shenango Inc.  He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175.  Mr. Leonard enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking walks, camping and watching old westerns on television.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.  He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

On August 30, 1967 he married Ruth Ann Snatchko who died March 17, 2021.

Surviving are two daughters, Paula (Paul) Howard of Ellsworth, PA and Tammy (Mark) Post of Hickory, PA; a sister, Becky Forsythe of Alabama; nine grandchildren, Paul, Brandon, Cody, Angelina, Sarah, Matthew, Johnathan, Shawn and Chyann and several great grandchildren.  Also surviving is a niece, Pamela Philyaw and a nephew, Joseph Oravitz.

Deceased in addition to his parents and wife is a son, Shawn M. Leonard Sr.; a brother, William A. Leonard; a niece, Robin M. Nestor and a brother in law, Jim Forsythe.

Friends will be received on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 11:30 A.M. in the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.  Full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175 and the United States Army.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.  Condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com
