Virginia M. Collis

Virginia M. Collis, 79 of Washington passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 following a brief illness with her family holding her hands.  She was born September 19, 1942 in Washington, PA the daughter of the late Paul and Angeline Molinaro Hickman.  Mrs. Collis attended Washington High School and throughout her life was employed as a cook at Club 40, the Union Grill, Tower Restaurant and Taylor’s Pharmacy.  She enjoyed bowling and was an avid volunteer for many years with Pony Baseball.  Most of all, Mrs. Collis enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and dogs.  She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

On August 22, 1959 she married the late John Joseph Collis Jr.  Surviving are two sons, Michael T. (Pamela) Collis of Pittsburgh and Samuel P. (Sharon) Collis of Westerville, Ohio; a daughter, Gina M. Collis of Washington; a brother, Joseph Swan of Washington; a sister, Rebecca Hildebrand of Washington and four grandchildren, Alex, Mia, Sebastian and Spencer Collis.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Collis was preceded in death by a son, John J. Collis III and a brother, Samuel Swan.

Friends will be received from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. the hour of a funeral service on Thursday-September 1, 2022 in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Owner, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N.
