Genevieve Uniejewski

Genevieve “Jennie” Uniejewski went to be with her Lord, her husband, her family and her friends on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 which was her 92nd birthday.  She was born on July 5, 1930, the daughter of the late Stanley and Anna Bulat Borkowski.  On February 12, 1950, she married Chester “Chao” Uniejewski who died on January 14, 2002. 

She was a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, and she loved her church family.  Mrs. Uniejewski was a member of the Ladies Adoration Society for 66 years.  She was a part of the many church projects which included: pierogi making, fish fries, dinners and was instrumental in establishing the Blanket Ministry. 

Mrs. Uniejewski was an avid dart ball player, having played for the Polish Club for 50 years. 

She spent many years as a homemaker when her children were young and was famous for her cookie sheet apple pie.  After her children were grown, she worked in the book keeping department at First National Bank from where she retired in 1987. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, her step-son, Ed Uniejewski;  brothers, Walter (Fuzzy), Chester and Edward Borkowski; sisters, Helen Peters and Mary Jane McCoy. 

She is survived by four children, Charlotte (Bob) Day, of Washington, Patty (Tom) Wolfe of Stow, Ohio and Raymond ( Marie Jean) Uniejewski and Stanley “Stush” (Cindy) Uniejewski, of Washington; nine grandchildren whom she adored, Brandy (Josh) Emery of Canonsburg, Brian Uniejewski of Washington, Scott (Benjilou) Day of Apex, North Carolina, Todd (Bethany) Day of Washington, Lauren (Luke) Williams of Washington, Anthony (Nicole) Uniejewski of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kaitlin (Paul) Miller of Washington, Megan Wolfe of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Brendon Wolfe of Stow, Ohio.  She was the beloved Big Babcie of Chao and Bella Emery, Leo Carder, Violet, Jacob, Simon, Gordon and Abigail Day and Samuel, Ellie, Benjamin and a “future” little Williams.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends will be received on Friday-July 8, 2022 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday-July 9, 2022 in the Holy Trinity National Catholic Church, 605 Hewitt Ave., Washington with Father Mark Swoger as celebrant.  Those wishing to attend the Mass should go directly to the church on Saturday.  Private interment for the immediate family only will follow in the Holy Trinity National Catholic Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ladies Adoration Society of the Holy Trinity National Catholic Church, 605 Hewitt Ave. Washington PA 15301.  Condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com
