Homer David Jones
/Homer David Jones, 94 of Washington passed away peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2022 in Allegheny General Hospital following a brief illness. He was born June 25, 1928 in Washington PA the son of the late William McKee and Eliza Rose Frye Jones. Mr. Jones attended Washington School District Schools. He was Christian by faith. Mr. Jones served in the United State Army 28th Infantry Division during the Korean War from 1950 until 1952 at which time he was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He was employed for 46 years as a mould maker at various glass factories in Washington until his retirement. Mr. Jones was a member of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175 in Washington. He enjoyed watching all sports on television and especially enjoyed watching dog and horse races. Mr. Jones also enjoyed playing shuffle board and card games, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
On May 24, 1976 he married Louise A. Paluda who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Esther (Arne) Sten of Washington and Roseann (Danny) West of Washington and a step daughter, Diana (John) Lawson of Washington. Mr. Jones was the last of his immediate family. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Matthew (Tysa), Shawn (Angela), Brian (Jessica), Nicole (Brandon), Natalie (David) and Taylor (Fiance: Jacob); two step grandchildren, Shannon (David) and J.K. (Ashley); ten great grandchildren, Braden, Brenden, Brycen, Brixlee, McKay, Cole, Kalina, Nalani, Eli and Helena and three step great grandchildren, Keon, Brycen and Maddox. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Ellsworth; three sisters, Margaret, Virginia and Alberta; a great granddaughter, Juliana and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in the funeral home with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery Serenity Mausoleum.
