Joann Bittlebrun Sayre

Joann Bittlebrun Sayre, 79 of Washington passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, December 1, 2022 surrounded by her family.  She was born June 15, 1943 in Washington, PA the daughter of the late Adrian J. and Elsie M. Israel Bittlebrun.  Joann was a 1961 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School.  She also attended secretarial school.  Joann was the owner and operator of Dependable Electric Supply in Washington for 56 years.  She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish.  Joann was a member of the Arms Club, the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175 Ladies Auxiliary, was the second female inducted into the Washington Elks Lodge #776, was a 30 year member of Moose Lodge #22 Ladies Auxiliary, the Washington County Home Builders Association and was a member of the Lions Club Lioness.  She also did charitable work for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.  Joann enjoyed drag racing her 1962 Corvette, “The Golden Goddess”, was an avid cat lover and loved feeding the deer in her yard.  She will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile that lit up a room, her kind and gentle nature and her ability to always look at the bright side of things.  Joann never forgot a birthday or a holiday and went out of her way to make everyone feel special.  She will be dearly missed by all that knew and love her.

Surviving is her loving companion, C. Fred Wilkinson of Washington and his daughter, Joie (Nate Young) Woods; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Swart, who is her Goddaughter, Melany (Randy) Agnew, Aaron (Tara) Bittlebrun, Eric (Brittney) Bittlebrun, Ryan (Willie Vervalin) Bittlebrun and Kristen (Heath) Smith; great nieces and great nephews, Alesha Stankus, Alexander, Christian, Hannah, Joshua and Randi Lynn Agnew, Easton Swart, Aidyn, Anya and Liam Bittlebrum, Aubrey, Logan and McKenna Smith and one great-great nephew, Killian Agnew.

In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by a brother, Vaughn J. Bittlebrun.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Gateway Hospice for the loving care and compassion that was given to Joann while under their care.

Friends will be received on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.  A prayer service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 9:00 A.M. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, 119 W. Chestnut St. Washington with the Rev.
