Mark Joseph Russo

Mark Joseph Russo, 47 of Washington PA died Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 11:30 P.M. at the Washington Hospital.  He was born October 9, 1975 a son of the late Anthony J. Russo and Loretta Amos Russo of Washington, PA.  Up to the seventh grade he was a member of the Immaculate Conception Grade School as well as an altar boy at the church.  Mark was a graduate of Trinity High School in 1994, where he also played hockey.  He graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s of Psychology in 1999.  Mark was a skilled carpenter, a unique artist, and an irreplaceable friend.  In his later years he spent a majority of his time with his daughters and friends.

Mark's favorite color was purple, and his favorite flower was hibiscus. His hobbies included woodworking, creating music, snowboarding, trinket collecting, and skateboarding.  He was a hardworking, overly giving, loving family man who wanted nothing more than to see his daughters and friends happy.  Mark had this raunchy sense of humor that never failed to amuse.  He remodeled most of the Farmhouse when his family moved in, and had them help him build a wall out of collected glass bottles to immortalize the family.  The house was always full of music and people celebrating the gift that is life.  He participated in many drum circles and gatherings at the farmhouse with friends and family leaving memories and moments in his path.  He loved cutting his grass, and following the latest world news.  Most of Mark's time was spent with his family at home, parks, or music festivals.  He enjoyed taking his daughters fishing in the summer when they were not finding a project to work on.  His favorite pastime in the winter was starting vegetable plants from seedlings with a grow light.  His daughter Kaya said, "My dad has been my idol my whole life and a piece of myself will forever be gone with him."

He is survived by his mother, Loretta, former wife, Jammie Sidley Russo; four daughters, Kaya Rayne, Samaya Skye, Raya Sol, and Wynter Elizabeth Russo; granddaughter, Evryn Amoureux Mowery; sister, Melissa Russo of Boulder, Colorado and extended family and friends.
