/KENNETH JOHN ULLOM JR. 87 OF WASHINGTON,PA PASSED AWAY ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17,2021 AT DONNELL HOUSE, WASHINGTON, PA. JOHN WAS BORN ON OCTOBER 24, 1933 IN RICHMOND, VIRGINIA TO THE LATE KENNETH JOHN ULLOM SR. AND ALMA DAY ULLOM. HE WAS RAISED IN ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA WHERE HE ATTENDED GRADE SCHOOL AND GRADUATED FROM WASHINGTON LEE HIGH SCHOOL IN 1951. JOHN CONTINUED HIS EDUCATION AT VIRGINIA POLYTECHNICAL INSTITUTE (VIRGINIA TECH) AND RECEIVED HIS DEGREE IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING.
HE WAS DRAFTED INTO THE U.S. ARMY WHERE HE SERVED 2 YEARS. AFTER HIS HONORABLE DISCHARGE FROM THE ARMY HE ACCEPTED A POSITION AT WESTERN ELECTRIC AND WORKED THERE FOR 20 YEARS
JOHN MOVED TO WASHINGTON, PA IN THE 70'5 AND WORKED AT STAR DYNAMICS. WHILE WORKING THERE A CO-WORKER WANTED HIM TO MEET HER SISTER AND THAT'S WHEN HE MET THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE. ON MAY 8, 1982 KENNETH JOHN ULLOM JR. AND VIRGINIA OSSO ULLOM WERE MARRIED AT THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH IN WASHINGTON, PA
AFTER STAR DYNAMICS CLOSED JOHN ACCEPTED THE POSITION AS DIRECTOR OF BUILDING SERVICES AT PRESBYTERIAN SENIOR CARE AND WORKED THERE UNTIL HIS RETIREMENT. HE THEN WORKED AS PROJECT MANAGER FOR PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATES WHERE HE MANAGED THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE WOODLANDS VILLAGE TOWN HOMES ON THE CAMPUS OF PRESBYTERIAN SENIOR CARE. AFTER COMPLETING THAT PROJECT HE RETIRED FOR GOOD.
JOHN WAS A TRUE GENTLEMAN, A KIND LOVING PERSON AND WAS ALWAYS THERE WHEN NEEDED. HE COULD REPAIR ANYTHING AND BUILD ANYTHING AND WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHEN THEY NEEDED HELP WITH PROJECTS HE COULD FIX ANYTHING THAT WAS BROKEN. WHEN HE GOT THE CALL HE WOULD GRAB HIS TOOL BOX AND GO.
JOHN WASA MEMBER OF THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH AND SERVED ON THE BOARD OF THE TRUSTEES FOR MANY YEARS. HE ALSO VOLUNTEERED AT THE PRESBYTERIAN SENIOR CARE.
JOHN AND VIRGINIA LOVED TRAVELING THROUGH THE YEARS WITH COUSINS STEVE AND PEGGY DAY AND LONG TIME FRIENDS CARMEN AND JILL ALBERTA. HE LOVED THE BEACH AND ENJOYED THE CRUISES AND VISITING COUNTRIES IN EUROPE AND TRAVELING THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES.
HE AND VIRGINIA ALSO ENJOYED HOSTING PIG ROASTS, PICNICS, ANNIVERSARY, GRADUATION AND BIRTHDAY PARTIES FAMILY REUNIONS AND MANY CHRISTMAS EVE'S WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS AT THE FARM.
JOHN IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE VIRGINIA OSSO ULLOM HIS STEP-SON JOHN MICHAEL ALBERTA, HIS GRANDCHILDREN BROOKE (BEN SALATA) ALBERTA, BLAIR (CHRIS( ERNEST, HIS GREAT GRANDCHILDREN COLE MICHAEL MUSSER, COLES FATHER MARK MUSSER, COLTON JAMES ERNEST AND BELLA CAPRI SALATA, SISTERS-IN-LAW MARY ANN FOX, HER STEP-DAUGHTER LISA(JIMMY) HAWRANKO, MARGARET (JOHN) SKARIOT,THEIR FAMILY JENNIFER(BRANDT) BOWMAN, MIA AND MAX AND LISA SKARIOT, LISA (DAVID) HASSON, ROBERT,,LAURA,LUKE AND ANNABELLA HASSON,KRISTEN ,ALEX,,AVAAND GIANNA MALDONADO,MINDYAND RICHARD EARLIWINE,JIMMY,JASMINE AND JACKSON HUGHES,MANDY,PATRICK, ROSEMARY AND MADELINE GILLEY AND SAMMY SMOKE.
ALSO SURVIVING ARE HIS NIECE SHARON (DAVID) CHALMERS AND THEIR CHILDREN ADAM, AUDRA AND PARKER, HIS, NEPHEW JEFFREY (KAREN) FILCIK AND THEIR CHILDREN KATE (MIKE) BROCKMAN AND THEIR CHILDREN ADDISON AND MELANIE, SAMANTHA FILCIK AND ANDREW (DEANNA) FILCIK AND THEIR SON BENNETT GARAY AND NUMEROUS NIECES, NEPHEWS, COUSINS AND FRIENDS.
JOHN WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, HIS SON, BRADLEY SCOTT ULLOM, HIS SISTERS, SHIRLEY FILCIK AND RUTHE. ULLOM, HIS MOTHER AND FATHER- IN- LAW ALFRED AND ELVERA OSSO,BROTHERS IN- LAW-JULES P FILCIK, HARRY J. FOX AND SAM OSSO, AND SISTER- IN - LAW, PATRICIA OSSO.
A SPECIAL THANKS TO STEVE AND PEGGY DAY WHO HELPED US GET THROUGH THIS JOURNEY.GOING OUT TO DINNER EVERY FRIDAY AND ALL OF THE SIDE TRIPS AND SPENDING EVENINGS ON YOUR BACK PATIO ALWAYS WAS ENJOYABLE TO JOHN. AND TO OUR FAMILY MEMBERS WHO STOOD BY US DURING JOHNS ILLNESS. WE COULD NOT HAVE MADE IT WITHOUT ALL OF YOU.
AND TO THE RESIDENTS AT REDSTONE COURT BUILDING 830 WHO ALWAYS WERE THERE FOR US DURING JOHN'S ILLNESS.

FRIENDS WILL BE RECEIVED ON THURSDAY-MARCH 25, 2021 FROM 3:00 P.M. UNTIL 4:00 P.M. IN THE WARCO-FALVO FUNERAL HOME, INC., WILSON AT EAST KATHERINE AVE., WASHINGTON, S. TIMOTHY WARCO, SUPERVISOR/DIRECTOR, SUSAN FALVO WARCO, DIRECTOR, S. TIMOTHY WARCO II, DIRECTOR. FULL MILITARY RITES WILL BE ACCORDED AT 4:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY IN THE FUNERAL HOME BY THE AMERICAN LEGION EDWIN SCOTT LINTON POST # 175 AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY. A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD IN THE FUNERAL HOME IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE MILITARY HONORS. REV. DR. L. STEPHEN SMITH JR. WILL OFFICIATE. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS CAN BE MADE TO ST.
