Alexander A. Baker

On Monday, February 15, 2021, Alexander A. Baker passed away at the age of 95.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Veronica Baker, his 4 children, Kathy Baker (Terry Kuhlman), Barb Cass (Paul), Marci Sikora (Richard), and Richard (Amy), 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Louise Moczulski.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Baker, sisters, Margie Majher, Genevieve Baker, and a brother, Frank Baker.

He was born November 12, 1925 in Wilkes Barre, PA and at the age of 18, joined the 15th US Army Air Forces and served as a ball turret gunner in a B17 in the 301st Bomb Group, 352nd Bomb Squadron, stationed in Lucera, Italy.

After receiving his Honorable Discharge, he returned to Washington, PA and married Veronica Maleski on June 21, 1947.  Al worked at Brockway Glass Plant #7 and retired in 1981.

Al was an avid bass fisherman and spent countless hours fishing with his son at the #3 and #4 dams in Washington. Woodworking was another hobby he enjoyed and he spent many hours in his workshop making yard decorations for his wife. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Monday-February 22, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. the hour of a blessing service in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director.  Father George Chortos will officiate.  Burial will be private in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175 and the United States Army.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that contributions be made to the Pennsylvania Veterans Trust Fund at www.pa.gov/dmva/donate/Donation/Create.  Condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com
