Wayne M. Weaver

Wayne M. Weaver, 74 of Washington, PA, formerly of New Castle passed away peacefully on Friday-December 31, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family.  He was born June 28, 1947 in New Castle the son of the late Claire and Dorothy Tanner Weaver.  Mr. Weaver was a graduate of Shenango High School.  He then enrolled at Geneva College before being drafted and called on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 until 1970.  Throughout his tour of duty in Vietnam, Mr. Weaver received the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, One Overseas Bar, the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Purple Heart.  After being honorably discharged from the Army, he returned to Geneva College where he graduated from with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology.  Mr. Weaver was employed in the shipping and receiving industry for many years.  After his retirement he worked part time at the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc.  He took a lot of pride in his job at the funeral home and was employed there for many years.  Mr. Weaver was a member of the Glenn St. Free Methodist Church where he taught vacation bible school in the summer.  He was also a member of the Hoover Heights Christian Missionary Alliance.  Mr. Weaver was a true man of God who loved the Lord.  He had previously been involved with the Trinity Booster Club and enjoyed hunting and coaching his son’s sports when they were younger.  Most of all, Mr. Weaver enjoyed spending time with his family especially time spent with his grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

On July 1, 1978 he married Nancy L. Riddle who survives.  Also surviving are two sons, Chad (Jessica) Weaver of Washington and Jarrod (Tammy) Weaver of Pittsburgh; three sisters, Rochelle Heaton of Aliquippa, Claire Goulish of Youngstown and Marian (John) DeRobertis of New Castle; five grandchildren, Noah, Kate, Evan, Deklan and Aviana Weaver.  Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
