Veronica L. Wilkins

Veronica L. Wilkins, 70 of Washington passed away unexpectedly on Thursday-December 16, 2021 in the Washington Hospital Emergency Room.  She was born May 2, 1951 in Washington, PA the daughter of the late Weldon and Rachel Trainer.  Mrs. Wilkins was a 1970 graduate of Trinity High School and briefly attended the University of Pittsburgh.  She was first employed as a Residential Aide at the former Western Center and later at Mayview State Hospital from where she retired after 30 years of employment.  Mrs. Wilkins was a former member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Washington and the Revival Temple Fellowship Ministries.  She was a graduate of the Hardy Bible School where she later became a teacher.  Mrs. Wilkins loved to teach the Bible and was truly a woman of God.  She also enjoyed cooking.  Most of all, Mrs. Wilkins enjoyed the precious time she spent with her family and loved ones.  She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Surviving is her husband of 47 years, Kenneth L. Wilkins of Washington; a daughter, Courtney D. Wilkins of Pittsburgh; two brothers, John (Sandy) Trainer of Houston, PA and Benjamin “Jaffers” Bailey of the state of California; a sister, Louise Ware of Alabama.  Two grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her mother and father, Mrs. Wilkins was preceded in death by a brother, Moses Bailey and by three sisters, Veta Sanford, Dorothy Washington and Irene Trainer.

Friends will be received on Wednesday-December 22, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. the hour of a home going service in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.  Pastor Robert Robinson will officiate.  Interment will follow at 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.  Condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com
