Norma Jean Binder, 87 of Washington passed away peacefully on Tuesday-December 8, 2020 in the Washington Hospital.  She was born August 19, 1933 in Washington, PA the daughter of the late Clifford Lee and Sara Agnes Espey Harton.  Mrs. Binder was a 1952 graduate of Washington High School and was Lutheran by faith.  After graduating high school she worked at Brockway Glass for 33 years.  Mrs. Binder then became employed in the Washington School District for 28 years in the cafeteria retiring as the head cook in 2016 at the age of 83.  She enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid sports fan, especially of all Wash High sports.  Mrs. Binder loved to watch her grandchildren’s sporting events and would often travel great distances to be at their games.  She also enjoyed going to the beach and spending time at various casinos.  Most of all, Mrs. Binder enjoyed spending quality time with her family.  She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her. 

On December 24, 1953 she married Paul N. Binder Sr. who died December 3, 2017.

Surviving are two sons, Paul N. (Fran) Binder Jr. of Washington and Jeffrey A. (Denise) Binder of Meadow Lands; two brothers, Paul (Sandy) Harton of Washington and Ronald “Ron” (Dolores) Harton of Washington; two grandchildren, Paul N. (Tiffany) Binder III of Lawrence, PA and Brian A. (Summer) Binder of Canonsburg and two great grandchildren, Harrison Binder and Elliot Rose Binder.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Binder was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Lee Harton Jr. and a sister, Peggy Woodring.
