George R. Ledbetter, 69 of Washington Pa. formerly of Biscoe, North Carolina passed away at 4:25 P.M. on Friday-December 29, 2017 at the Greenery, Canonsburg Pa. following a lengthy illness.  He was born January 21, 1948 in Biscoe, North Carolina the son of the late Thelma and Rebecca Ledbetter.  In his younger high school years in Biscoe, Mr. Ledbetter was very athletic excelling in football and track and field where he broke many school records.  Mr. Ledbetter worked as a self-employed painter, was a Christian and a follower of Jesus Christ.  He loved to fish and enjoyed spending time with his family especially the time that he spent with his grandchildren.  Mr. Ledbetter was very involved with his grandchildren’s sporting events and he enjoyed taking them to their practices and games.  He was a true family man and he will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. 

He is survived by his wife; Janetta V. “Nettie” Crawford Ledbetter of Washington, two sons; James (Ramona) Gilbert of Aliquippa, Pa. and Freddie Mike Kimbrew of Washington, four daughters; Shannon (Bruce) Anderson of San Antonio, Texas, Lakeysha (Laron Jackson) Gilbert of Washington, Marquita (Mark Ford) Kimbrew of Washington and Georgetta (Carl) Jones of Washington, one brother; Timothy Rose of Beaver Falls, Pa., and one sister; Judy Phipps of Beaver Falls, Pa.  A host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews and one great-grandson also survive.

In addition to his mother and father, Mr. Ledbetter was preceded in death by a son; Kevin Robert Ledbetter.
