Regina Elizabeth Thomas Higginbotham
/Regina Elizabeth Thomas Higginbotham, 87, of Washington, Pennsylvania, entered into eternal peace on Friday, September 8th, 2017 in Washington, Pennsylvania.
Regina was born in Washington, PA to Robert A. Thomas, Sr and Eunice I. Mays on April 15th, 1930. Regina attended school in the Washington School District. She was graduated from West Virginia State College where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. In August 1952 Regina was married to the late Aubrey D. Higginbotham in Washington, PA. Regina devoted her entire professional life to Hood Insurance Associates where she retired after many years of service. She was a lifelong member of St Paul AME Church. As a faithful member, she served on numerous boards, committees, and missions including the Lay Organization and the Missionary Society. She especially loved her involvement with the Area Agency on Aging, Washington County Senior Action Council, the Foster Grandparent Program, the LeMoyne Center and the NAACP. Regina was an accomplished pianist and avid golfer. She spent many hours on the greens honing her skill.
Regina is preceded in death by her parents; Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Thomas, Sr., her brother; Robert (Jaggers) A. Thomas, Jr. and her beloved only child; Aubrey (Hicky) D. Higginbotham, Jr.
Regina is survived by her grandson; Zachery Hackney, her nieces; Robeana Thomas Scott (Clarence), Eunice Thomas Hill, and Coyea Elizabeth Thomas Kizzie (Keith), four generations of nieces and nephews, her Goddaughter; Megan Higgs and numerous cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

Friends will be received on Saturday-September 16, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, 16 Ridge Ave. Washington. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday in the church with Bishop Larry D. Scott of Empowerment Family Worship Center officiating. Regina will be laid to rest privately at a later date at Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
