Jeff David "J.D." Wilkins

Jeff David “J.D.” Wilkins, 89 of Washington passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday-May 27, 2017 after a lengthy illness.  Mr. Wilkins was born September 10, 1927 in Marion, North Carolina the son of the late Jeff David “Dee” & Nettie Bush Wilkins.  He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church where he ushered on Saturdays at 6:00 p.m. Mass.  Mr. Wilkins was employed as an Assistant Foreman for Bethlehem Mine #60 until his retirement.  He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, bowling, and spending time with his family. 

On February 19, 1949 he married the love of his life; Vera Helen Fullum who survives.  Also surviving are two sons; Theodore Wilkins of Dayton, Ohio, & Jeffrey (Venus) Wilkins of Houston, a daughter; Karen (Charles) Crouser of Washington, 6 grandchildren; Terrence Wilkins, Robert (Cinnamon) Wilkins, Amber Wilkins, Jaffers Bailey, Jayda Bailey & Anissa Asbury, 10 great- grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, a son in law ; Benjamin Bailey of Woodland Hills, California, along with several nieces & nephews. 

Mr. Wilkins was preceded in death by a daughter; Patricia Bailey, 4 grandchildren; Theodore Wilkins Jr., Lurrie Wilkins, Kristopher Wilkins, & Jason Bailey, 2 great- grandchildren; Anthony Wilkins & Alexis Barnett, 4 brothers; Larnie Wilkins, Henry Wilkins, John Wilkins, & Van Wilkins, 3 sisters; Rose Mae Hatton, Emmaline Edison & Hazel Virginia Phillips.  

Friends will be received on Wednesday-May 31, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director.  A blessing service will be held on Thursday-June 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com
