Paul Robert Johnston Washington Entrepreneur Paul Robert “Bob” Johnston, 87 of Port St. Lucie, Florida formerly of Washington died Monday-September 1, 2014. He was born May 24, 1927 in Washington the son of the late Paul and Mauvelyn Monelle Prigg Johnston. Mr. Johnston was a member of the First Christian Church in Washington. He was a 1946 graduate of Trinity High School. He was employed as a machinist by Washington Mold and Machine until 1957. From 1957 to 1969 he was President and General Manager of Crile Machine Company. He was the founder of Washington Automatic Machine Company in 1969 and later founded Washington Rotating Control Heads, Inc. in 1979. Mr. Johnston retired in 1991. He enjoyed golf, with memberships at Lone Pine Golf Club, Nemacolin Country Club and Southpointe Golf Club. Mr. Johnston was a member of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175, a 50 year member of Washington Lodge #164 F & A.M., Valley of Coudersport Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Syria Temple AAONMS of Pittsburgh and BPOE Elks Lodge #776. He was also a member of the Washington Flyers Club. During World War II Mr. Johnston served in the United States Navy where he received the American Theatre Ribbon and the Victory Medal. On May 9, 1991 he married Regina Marie Piatt who survives. Also surviving is a daughter; Joyce Elaine (Linus) Mayernik of Washington, two step-children; Tara Marie George (Joey) Dyer and Lance Patrick George, five grandchildren; Chelsea Renae Johnston, Adam Michael Johnston, Collin Franklin Fischer, Lauren Monelle (Trevor) Nissley and Alexa Dawn Simmons, two son-in-laws; Delmer Simmons & Kenneth Fischer, daughter-in-law; Cheryl Johnston. Mr. Johnston was preceded in death by a son; Vaughn Robert Johnston, daughters; Dawn Ellen Fischer & Denise Anne Johnston Simmons and a grandson; Ryan Robert Johnston. Friends will be received on Friday-September 5, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc. Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday- September 6, 2014 in the funeral home with Pastor Craig Bellis officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. A Masonic Funeral Service will be conducted by Washington Lodge #164 F & A.M. at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home. Full military rites will be accorded by the United States Navy and the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
