Ruby Wright Verno

Ruby Wright Verno passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2024.  She was born on December 23, 1931, a daughter of the late Clyde Wright and Dorothy Byers Wright.

She lived her life in West Alexander. On September 23, 1950, she married the love of her life George Verno who passed away in 2011.  Together they raised three daughters, Yvonne Verno, Cindy Verno Zubaty, and Rose (Gregory) Summers.

Ruby is survived by her daughters and grandsons, A.J. (Ashley) Zubaty, Andrew, Chad, and Evan Anagnoston; great granddaughter, Athena Anagnoston; a brother, Kenneth Wright.  Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, and two special nieces who have remained a constant in her life, Barb Hoover and Deb DeGarmo.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ron Zubaty; sisters, Betty Ullom, Mabel Rice, Ida Dorsey, Lynn Smith, and an infant sister, Ida Mae Wright.

Ruby was a long-time member of the Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxillary of West Alexander Post # 656.

At the request of Ruby, there will be no visitation.  Family and friends are welcome to the West Alexander Cemetery on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, George.

Ruby will be dearly missed and forever loved.  

Arrangements are under the direction of the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S.
