Jane S. Lyle

Jane S. Lyle, 93, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024.  She was born on September 11, 1930, in Wolfdale, PA, a daughter of the late Edwin Ray and Loretta Six and had resided in the Taylorstown area all of her life.

Jane was a member of the Taylorstown Christian Church for many years and was the former organist, choir director, and Sunday school teacher.  For the last decade, she attended and was a member of the North Ten Mile Baptist Church.  Jane was a 1948 graduate of Claysville High School and auxiliary member of the Washington County Camp of the Gideons International.

She enjoyed spending time with her extended family, and hosting Sunday dinners each week until recent years.  Jane loved baking pies, reading, and doing word search puzzles.  She found the most joy in hymns and was the prayer warrior of the family.

On April 15, 1949, she married the late K. Dale Lyle, her high school sweetheart.  The two were married for nearly 65 years and had four children, Shirley (Mike) Sanders, Phyllis (Bob) Adkins, Dennis (Nancy) Lyle, and Nancy (Alex) Moore.  Jane is survived by her seven grandchildren, Melody (Shawn) Phillips, Jonathan (Tricia) Sanders, and Angela Sanders, Christopher (Brandy) Lyle, Melissa Clark, Darrin Lyle, and Beck (Sandee) Adkins-Coss.  Jane is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, whom she loved spending time with.

Jane was preceded in death by her two brothers, Edwin and John Six; husband, Dale; son, Dennis Lyle; daughter, Shirley Sanders, and grandson, Benjamin Adkins. 

Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. Until 8:00 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director.  A service to honor Jane will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home, led by Dr. Bonnie Thurston, a close family friend.  Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jane’s honor be made to CASA for Kids, Inc. https://casawashington.org  a cause that was close to her heart.  Condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com
