John E. Kozdra
John E. Kozdra, 69, of Claysville, PA, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024. John was born in Washington, PA, on January 17, 1955, a son of the late Edward and Veronica Kozdra. He attended Immaculate Conception High School and graduated from Washington High School in 1973. John spent most of his career at Al Lorenzi Lumber and later retired from Interstate Contractors Supply.
On November 3, 1973, John married his love and best friend, Jamie Kay Bradley Kozdra, who survives. Together they raised two daughters, Kristin (Brett) Gottschalk of Norfolk, VA, and Katie (Dan) Weiss of Claysville, PA. John was the proud “Grumpy” of eight grandchildren, Daniel (Brittany) Meyer, Kyrrah (Fiancé-Nick Hinson) Meyer, Tyler Gottschalk and Peyton Gottschalk all of Norfolk, VA, and Lucy, Luke, Lia, and Lex Weiss of Claysville, PA. He also had three great grandchildren, Aurora and Nova Meyer and Addie Thiles of Norfolk, VA. Also surviving is his brother, Jim Kozdra of Washington, PA.
John’s family and friends were his life. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved bass fishing, hunting, gardening, and could be found spending most of his time working on endless projects around the house, tinkering in his garage and side-by-side with his wife, Jamie, cheering for his grandkids from the sidelines of all their sporting events and activities. John was loved beyond measure by his wife and daughters, his family and friends, and anyone lucky enough to have known him.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S.
