Jean E. McAnallen
Jean E. McAnallen, 97, of Washington, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024, with her family at her side. She was born November 10, 1926, in West Middletown, PA, a daughter of the late Ernest C. and Eula M. Ritchey Lawton. Mrs. McAnallen was a 1944 graduate of East Washington High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Mrs. McAnallen enjoyed embroidering, bowling, reading, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling and boating with her late husband and swimming with her friends at the Wellness Center. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. McAnallen will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
On April 24, 1947, she married George W. McAnallen who passed away on March 29, 2012. Surviving are two sons, Charles A. (Suzanne) McAnallen of Washington, PA, and Daniel G. (Bonnie) McAnallen of Washington, PA; three daughters, Patty J. O’Leary of Deep Creek, MD, M.S. “Sam” Bracey of Prosperity, PA, and Laurie J. (John) Abel of Washington, PA; a son-in-law, Tim Curran of Mrytle Beach, SC; fourteen grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. McAnallen was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret A. “Peg” Curran; a son-in-law, Danny O’Leary, and by three brothers, Charles, William, and Lewis Lawton.
Friends will be received on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director. A prayer service will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, March 15, 2024, in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, 119 W. Chestnut Street, Washington, PA with the Rev. Michael Peck as celebrant. Those wishing to attend the 1:45 P.M. committal service at Washington Cemetery are asked to meet in the funeral home parking lot at 1:20 P.M. on Friday for the procession to the cemetery.
