Anthony “Tony” A. Comfort, 88, of Washington, PA, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023.  He was born on February 4, 1935 in Washington, PA, a son of the late Joseph and Laura Standiford Comfort.  Tony was a 1952 graduate of Washington High School, where he played football and ran track.  He also attended Waynesburg College and played football his freshman year.  Tony was employed for 46 years at Robert A. Bruno & Company, Inc., as a Mechanical Craftsman and “Jack of all Trades”.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, and a longtime member of the Washington Country Club.  Tony enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing, traveling, working in his yard, and playing dartball.

On April 7, 1956 he married Carolyn Bruno who survives.  They were able to celebrate 67 years of marriage.  Also surviving is a daughter, Toni L. Comfort of Washington, PA; two sons, Jonathan A. (Kim) Comfort of Washington, PA and Jeffrey L. Comfort of Washington, PA and three grandchildren, Ryan, Macy, and Gia Comfort.  Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Richard, and Bill and a sister Ruth Ellen Comfort
