Frederick E. Cushey
Frederick E. “Fred” Cushey, 87, of Washington, PA, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, July 2, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born on September 14, 1935 in Finleyville, PA, a son of the late Richard H. and Ruth Augusta Phoebe Cushey. Mr. Cushey was a graduate of Peters Township High School. He was employed as a Winder’s Helper at McGraw Edison for almost 30 years. After the closure of McGraw Edison, he continued his education at Rosedale Technical Institute where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Auto Mechanics. Mr. Cushey enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in his yard, working on cars, camping and attending festivals. He also enjoyed babysitting his grandson, Kevin when he was young. Kevin was his pride and joy. Mr. Cushey will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
On March 7, 1964, he married Carol A. Arnal, who survives. The couple had been married for 59 years. Also surviving is a daughter, Tracy (William) Muncie of Washington, PA; three sons, Daniel Cushey of Washington, PA, Steven (Patrice) Cushey of Washington, PA, and Shawn (Heather) Cushey of Washington, PA; two brothers, James Cushey of Florida and Richard (Nancy) Cushey of Finleyville, PA; three sisters, Dorothy Castor of Florida, Mary Ann Bolger of Indiana, and Ruthie (Charles) Viscuso of Venetia, PA; a brother-in-law, Samuel Arnal of Washington, PA; a grandson, Kevin Muncie and six step-grandchildren, Austin, Dylan, Anthony, Alicia, William, and Desiree`. Several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Cushey and a sister Hazel Snow.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 11:15 A.M. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA. Full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175 and the United States Army.
