John T. “Jack” Dagg, 91, of Washington, PA passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, with his daughters by his side.  He was born on September 11, 1932, in Washington and was raised in the West End by the late Helen Crites Dagg and John E. Dagg.  In February of 1952 he married Nancy J. Manrow and went on to have two daughters, Brenda Saunders and Kim Sams.

Jack proudly served in the United States Army as an M.P.  After the military he worked for Westinghouse while simultaneously earning his engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh.  He then worked for Stanley Berg Machinery, becoming the most productive employee in the firm.  Jack and two other employees went on to form DSM Machine Co. in Carnegie.  His tenacity and work ethic were something to be admired up until the very end.

Jack’s life certainly did not lack adventure as he traveled extensively, rode motorcycles, enjoyed watersports, golfing and horseback riding with his favorite horse Dan.  He also enjoyed coffee with friends at Panera and breakfast with family followed by Sunday Service at the Church of the Covenant.  

Jack is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Bernie) Saunders and Kim Sams; his former wife, Alice Dagg and her three children, Deana Stranges, Marty (Karen) Kwasniewski and the late John J. Kwasniewski; his grandchildren, Damara (Bill) VanBeneden, Desiré (Josh) Krawchyk, A.J. Stranges, Rose Kwasniewski and Kristin Kwasniewski, as well as six great grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his loving partner, Marguerite Bellinger and sister, Gerry Sommer.

Friends will be received on Monday, December 4, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. the hour of a funeral service in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.  The Rev. Dr. William J. Younger will officiate.  Interment will follow at 2:30 P.M. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.  Full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175 and the United States Army.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 4:00 P.M. at Angelo’s Restaurant in Washington, PA.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) https://www.dav.org/ Condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com
