Elizabeth Ruth Church Keirs Brownlee
Elizabeth Ruth Church Keirs Brownlee, 98 of Washington passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 23, 2023 in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care with her family at her side. She was born January 11, 1925 in Waynesburg, PA a daughter of the late Robert M. and Goldie Roupe Church. Mrs. Brownlee was a graduate of Trinity High School and was a member of the Abundant Life Baptist Church. She was employed for several years as a sales associate at Bon Ton from where she retired. Mrs. Brownlee enjoyed reading, especially the Bible and watching golf on television. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a kind and gentle soul who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her first husband, Robert “Kenny” Keirs died in 1953. Her second husband, Robert C. Brownlee died in 1990. Surviving is a son, Robert (Rhonda DiBello) Brownlee of Washington; three daughters, Sue K. (W. Bryan II) Pizzi of Washington, Debra L. (David) Lucas of Washington and Lisa F. (Lear) Carpenter of Washington. Mrs. Brownlee was the last of her immediate family. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jennifer Pizzi, W. Bryan III (April) Pizzi, Rebecca (Jay) Lear, Karli (Nick) Andy, Cory (Ashley) Carpenter, Paige (Dan) Hudson and Zachary Brownlee; eight great grandchildren, Marcus, Mackenzie, W. Bryan IV and Maleah Pizzi, Anika and Henley Andy and Esme and Irie Carpenter; two great-great grandchildren, Paisley and Maverick Pizzi. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Brownlee was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Richard “Dick” Church; a sister, Dorothy Edgar; a special cousin, June Clark and a special friend, Cecil Rager.
Friends will be received from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 27, 2023 in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 in the funeral home with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington City Mission, 84 W. Wheeling St., Washington and or to the Salvation Army of Washington, 60 E. Maiden St., Washington.
