Darla Jean Orlosky

Darla Jean Orlosky, 72, of Washington, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 20, 2023, in her home following a brief illness with her husband by her side.  She was born January 24, 1951, in Washington, PA, a daughter of the late Stephen Kenneth and Mary Louise Lennox Forgas.  Darla was raised by her uncle and aunt, the late Charles and Virginia Muhleman.  She was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School where she met her husband, Steve, whom she enjoyed 51 years of marriage with.  Darla then went on to graduate from California University of Pennsylvania in 1972 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.  Darla was a homemaker and raised her three sons until they were all in school and then she went to work in the banking industry until the time of her retirement.  She enjoyed going to casinos with her husband across the United States while touring in their R.V.  Most of all Darla loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

On June 24, 1972, she married Steven P. Orlosky who survives.  Also surviving are two sons, Aaron (Julie) Orlosky of Burgettstown, PA, and Evan (Lauren) Orlosky of Koh Tao, Thailand; two sisters, Karen Phillips of Texas and Kennetta Byrd of California, PA; two grandchildren, Grace and Luke Orlosky, and two cousins, Jude Muhleman of England and Freeda Forbister of Michigan.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  

In addition to her parents, uncle, and aunt, she was preceded in death by a son, Nathan Orlosky and a cousin, David Muhleman.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the staff at Amedisys Hospice, especially Melanie, Clare, Rebecca, and Madison for their outstanding care and compassion that they gave to Darla over the last several months.  The family would also like to extend a special thank you to all her family and friends who took the time to visit her at home.
