Victor Almo

Victor “Vic” Almo, 69, of Washington, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2023, in the Donnell House.  He was born March 11, 1954, in Washington, PA, a son of the late Floyd and Grace Mancuso Almo.  Vic was a 1972 graduate of Washington High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from West Virginia Wesleyan University.  Vic was Roman Catholic by faith and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish.  He was a member of the Son’s and Daughter’s of Italy, Primo Italiano Lodge No. 2800.  He was employed most of his life as a flight attendant for PAN American Airlines.  Later in life he worked for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the Human Resources Department from where he retired.  Vic enjoyed thrift shopping and had an eye for unique artwork, decorative items, and furniture.  In his younger years he enjoyed body building, physical fitness, volleyball, basketball, and racquetball.  He was also an avid gardener and a big Pittsburgh Steeler fan.  Vic enjoyed attending community events and cruising around town in his convertible.  He was a very social person with a magnetic personality.  Vic made time for staying in touch with family and friends in Washington and all over the country.  Vic looked forward to his weekly breakfast with friends at Krency’s.  He was very involved with Washington High School class reunions and was very proud of researching his family genealogy.  Vic will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Surviving is his partner, Rex Derreberry of Marietta, GA; two aunts, Evelyn Pirazzo of Washington, PA and Theresa Mancuso of Washington, PA; thirteen cousins, John Mancuso, Susan Johnson, Mark Myers, Christine Hainer, Kathie Amos, Frances Ferraro, Leonard Mancuso, Jr., Pamela Partozoti, Frank Mancuso, Jr., Kelly Walker, Shawn Myers, Richard Almo, and Carol Stetz.  Many second and third cousins, and so many friends also survive along with his Jack Russell Terrier, Luigi.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.       

Friends will be received on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.  A blessing service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, in the funeral home.  Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery, Four Season Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Son’s and Daughter’s of Italy, Primo Italiano Lodge No. 2800, P.O.
