Edmund Alex Roscoe
January 20, 1947 - August 24, 2022
Edmund A. Roscoe, 75, of Ruff Creek, PA died Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center following a sudden illness. Ed was born on January 20, 1947 and grew up in Carmichaels, PA before enlisting in the United States Army.
Ed is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Lou. He is also survived by his children, Julie Kelley (Ryan) of Canonsburg PA, Edmund Zachary Roscoe (Rebecca) of Morgantown WV and Joshua Roscoe of Carnegie PA. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Nathaniel Coyle, Isabella Coyle and Megan Kelley.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund (Al) and Garnet Roscoe; a sister, Joyce Roscoe; a daughter, Tina Coyle and a daughter-in-law, Amanda Roscoe (Broskey).
He proudly served with the United States Army in Vietnam with the 18th Engineer Brigade, 159th Engineer Headquarters Company as a UH-1 Crew Chief. While Ed graduated from California University of PA with a teaching degree in biology using the GI Bill, he preferred work in the steel mills, coal mines and long-haul trucking. He loved watching his children in all of their sports and activities and never missed a game or event. Most recently, Ed could be seen at any of Megan’s lacrosse games as this was his favorite pastime. He loved his cats, taking care of the yard and his cars. Ed was a member of the Church of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Washington, PA. He was also a proud member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and made many close friends at his support group at the Morgantown Veterans Center.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. the hour of a funeral service in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Owner, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director. The Rev. Dr. William Younger will officiate. Interment will follow at 2:30 P.M. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA. Full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175 and the United States Army.
