She was a 1955 graduate of Washington High School and 1959 graduate of California Teachers College.

On June 6, 1957 she married George P. Weiss who survives.  She was his loving and devoted wife, his life partner and his jitterbug partner.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children, George A. (Jill) Weiss, Jane Ann (Mike) Songer, Mary Beth (Ian) Pierce, and Brian (Tammie) Weiss.  She was the proud “Grandma” to 13 Grandchildren, Ashley (Mark McMahon) Weiss, George (Brenna) Weiss, Carley (Ryan Metro) Weiss, Michael Songer, Brent (Ally) Songer, Ross Songer, Evan (Tera) Songer, Emily (David) Theune, Katie (Andrew Fowler) Pierce, Hannah Pierce, Andrew, Jessie and Nolan Weiss.  She felt especially blessed to experience the joy of becoming a Great Grandma to Logan Olivia Songer.

When the entire family gathered, she was joyously overwhelmed at the reality that as an only child that she was so fortunate to have such a large family and wonderful life.  There was nothing better to her than a house full of Grandkids!

Jean dedicated her life to her family.  She loved to cook always making sure that her full course meal included a homemade dessert.  She enjoyed entertaining friends which included dinner parties, Bridge Clubs and simple evenings of cocktails on the porch.  She also enjoyed golfing with the 9 Holers at Lone Pine Golf Club in her later years.

Her love for children was fulfilled by volunteering for Make-A-Wish.

She also looked forward to her weekly Friday lunch and shopping trips just to return most of it the following Friday.

Her favorite tradition was gifting a special Christmas ornament annually to each of her Grandchildren which included a festive evening of eating and decorating her Christmas tree.

Honey, Mom, Grandma… We will miss you.  Thanks for all you did for all of us!
