JoAnn Whitehead

JoAnn "Cookie" Whitehead, 74 of Washington, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 9, 2022 after her 5 year courageous battle against cancer.  She was born November 3, 1947 in Washington, where she later met her soul mate and husband, John and had a beautiful 53 year marriage.

Cookie was a graduate of Washington High School and retired from Trinity North Elementary as the Assistant Manager in the cafeteria where she was known and loved by all.  She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody that came across her path.

Cookie first and foremost loved spending time with her family.  That was her #1 priority.  The beautiful nights that her husband, John and son, Bubby spent with her will be etched in their memories forever.  The endless days she would spend at pool with her daughter, Jodi and grandkids, Brooke and Andrew will be forever cherished. There are no other words to describe her but that of a warrior and an angel.  Her hobbies were playing keno at the casino and shopping in Gabes.  She also loved her getaways to Erie on the beach.

We know that she would like a special shout out to Dr. Kapor and all the great team at Hillman Cancer Clinic for the great special care she got from all of them who became family.

Cookie is survived by her loving husband, John, who was by her side through it all; daughter, Jodi Uram (Matt); son, Bubby (Jacki); grandkids, Brooke and Andrew; sister, Rose Marchwinski (Tom); niece, Bernadine and nephew, Tom (Joyce).

Deceased are her parents, Joe and Josephine Reda and her sister, Darlene (Pepsi) Dominski.
