James Denny Becker

James “Jim” Denny Becker, 71 of Washington passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at the Washington Hospital surrounded by his family.  He was born on March 6, 1951 in Washington, Pennsylvania the son of the late J. Lawrence Becker and Sara Jane McKean Becker.  James graduated from Washington High School in 1969 and attended Penn State University from 1969 until 1972.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  James was a TWA/American Airlines and All-Clad retiree.

He married Christina Becker on June 28, 1980.  They met through mutual friends, Patti and Larry, and were each other’s lifelong soul mates.  They were blessed with two children, Matthew and Stephen Becker.

James is survived by his wife, Christina; children, Matthew (Rachel) and Stephen (Katie); three beloved grandchildren, Jordyn, John James “JJ”, and Luke; brother, Thomas (Elizabeth) and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, J. Lawrence Becker and Sara Jane McKean Becker, and his brother, J. Robert Becker.

He will be especially remembered for being a great story teller, an avid skier and biker, and for his ability to tell a great joke.  James was an enthusiastic sports fan and loved watching Wash High, Penn State, W.V.U. and Pittsburgh Steeler football games.  He was a devoted and generous Christian man who will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.  James was affiliated with the Church of the Covenant and recently attended Mass at St. James Parish with his wife, Chris.

Friends will be received on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
