Carol Ann Marie Radziwon

Carol Ann Marie Radziwon 75, a resident of North Strabane Township was called home to our Savior, Jesus Christ on October 20, 2022.  She was born on February 18, 1947 in Greensburg, PA and was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Angela Radziwon and a brother, Richard Radziwon.  She is survived by her sister, Barbara Terrijoni, (husband Frank) and her identical twin sister, JoAnn Losko, (husband Joseph).   She was a devout member of St. Oscar Romaro Parish in Canonsburg, PA and was a member of the Christian Mothers Guild.  She spent many of days, making pierogies and volunteering at the parish fish frys and festivals.  Carol was a 30-year employee at AT&T working as a switchboard operator for many years in Pittsburgh.  Early in her career, she personally connected people around the globe, long before the advent of the Internet and cell phones.

After her retirement (at age 55), Carol traveled to many places around the world including: Alaska, Ireland, Poland, Italy, New Zealand, Australia and several bus tour trips around the United States.  She had a trip scheduled to Africa but it was cancelled due to the outbreak of COVID-19.  She enjoyed several trips to the sea shore with her family including: Myrtle Beach, Sanibel Island and Hilton Head Island.  Carol was an avid animal lover and was especially fond of cats.  There was never a stray cat that strayed for long after Carol found them in need.  She was especially proficient at trapping feral cats and ensuring that they were properly spayed or neutered.  Carol took care of many animals during her life, nursing them to health, finding them new homes and adopting them as her own.  She was a strong supporter of American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals (ASPCA) and animal friends.

She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Her subtle words of advice, witty personality and life perspectives made Carol a blessing to all that knew her.  Her faith in God was steadfast and was truly an example of Christian faith for her friends and family.

Carol had a can-do personality and strong work ethic that could be attributed to her humble upbringing in a small southwestern Pennsylvania coal town.  She was a perfectionist and felt anything could be accomplished in life with hard work and perseverance.  She was never afforded the opportunity to attend college but stressed the importance of education and achievement to her many nieces and nephews.

Carol always made sure her family came first and never missed the opportunity to make one feel special.  Whatever the situation, her family knew Carol would be there for them.  She was a constant in the lives of her nieces and nephews and was always willing to help them navigate through the rough seas of life.  Carol loved a party and shared in the planning and celebration of numerous family events and milestones such as: birthdays, marriages, graduations, holidays, recitals, reunions and picnics.  Her missing presence at future gatherings will leave her family with an immense feeling of loss.  However, some assurance will be gained knowing that she is reunited with her Mom, Dad, Brother and other loving relatives that have gone before her. Carol will be forever missed and remembered, as a life well-lived.
